The Tramontina Gourmet Tri Ply Clad Construction 12-piece Set can really take a beating for a set of high end cookware. These tri ply clad stainless steel dishes can withstand heats as high as 500-degrees Fahrenheit—about 50-degrees less than our top choice, the Cuisinart MCP-12N Multiclad Pro Stainless Steel. Its aluminum core did well to heat evenly. It’s an all-metal construction, but the stainless steel handles are actually quite cool to the touch when used on a stovetop.
And unlike Rachael Ray 16333 Cucina, this Tramontina set can actually go into the dishwasher and oven safe, including Dutch ovens. One thing we noticed was it wasn’t as non-stick as we like. For the most part, yes, but occasionally food did stick.

What that means is the Tramontina cookware set uses a three-layer system to create sturdiness but also to make induction compatible. Tramontina Tri Ply construction has an outside later made of stainless steel—which is just for sturdiness. To give it heating properties, a layer of aluminum was inserted in the tri ply stainless steel cookware—but aluminum can leach into food and is easy to scratch. To protect the aluminum, another layer of stainless steel was implemented. In other words: Tramontina tri ply clad cookware. This in turn makes it really tough, withstand temperatures of 500-degrees F and rust-resistant.
