Introducing TorrX, the smart ball pump that inflates or deflates any ball that requires air at the simple push of a button. Now, this isn’t exactly the most mind-blowing product we’ve ever seen, but it does sound like it would come in handy. One full charge inflates up to 50 soccer balls, basketballs, volleyballs or footballs. The device measures at just 9.25″ long and 1.75″ wide, perfect for a backpack or gym bag. It comes with a rechargeable lithium ion battery housed within the unit that is charged via a Micro USB port. Unfortunately, where TorrX lost my interest was when I read that it will be retailing for $80. It’s simply not worth it to spend $80 when you can just buy a pump at any other retailer for $5 or so just to be able to blow up a ball without having to manually pump it up yourself. I wouldn’t necessarily call this a “smart ball pump,” but the better ball pump is more fitting. Still, it is a cool device if you have spare money you’re looking to blow. It is currently being funded on Kickstarter, as the company is looking for $100,000. They’ve reached $16k of the goal with 19 days to go as of writing this.
