Performance

Starting off with the type of resistance used in the Sunny Health & Fitness SF-RW5639 rowing machine, you get hydraulics pistons which provide you with upto 12 different resistance levels to build up on. Paired with the full motion individual oars for each arm, as well as the easy to use collar to change the resistance, you can achieve a pretty good workout on your chest and overall upper body. However, while having hydraulic resistance pistons does cut down on the cost a bit, they do come with their own set of drawbacks, the first of which is the need of maintenance and the not so long durability. And so, unless you’re absolutely fixed on a budget, getting yourself something slightly higher priced and better might be worth considering.

Moving onto the display provided with the Sunny Health Fitness SF-RW5639 full motion rowing machine, you get a LCD monitor which shows the basic stroke count, time count and calories burned. But do know that, without any form of designated sensor for the heart rate the calories burned will be but just a rough estimate of the actual value. The digital monitor follows the simple scan mode switching through each data every 6 seconds and is pretty much simple but easy to read.

Apart from that, the Sunny Health & Fitness SF-RW5639 rowing machine comes with a 350lb weight capacity which is more than enough for most people, but where it falls back is that, since the beam is a bit short, it won’t allow anyone taller than 5’ 10’’ to do a full stroke. But, other than that and the slightly squeaky seat rollers, it stands out as a pretty quiet and capable machine that you can use to keep your body fit even as you watch tv.

And so, with all that ,including the adjustable foot straps on the foot pedals, it makes for a pretty nice exercise equipment for those just starting out and on a budget. But if you can afford a bit more, getting yourself something of greater durability would be a better choice.

Design

Weighing to be about 38lbs and having dimensions of 52 x 24 x 14 Inches (LWH), as well as a pretty small footprint and 40Inch seat rail length, the Sunny Health & Fitness SF-RW5639 makes for a considerably compact equipment to keep at home. It comes with a fully padded seat as well as handlebars with a pretty good grip, giving you a comfortable and easy using experience. And paired with the ergonomic design of the seat and the anti-slip grip of the foot pedals you can easily use the rowing arms on the machine for a good workout.

When it comes to setting up the Sunny Health & Fitness SF-RW5639, you do need to put in a bit more effort than most rowing machines and you’ll also need some tools that are not included, but if you can follow up on the instructions it will take about 30 minutes. However, if it seems like too much of a hassle for you, opting for expert assembly with an extra $100 may be the only way to go which isn’t that convenient either.

Value

Priced at about $200 and offering you free shipping with some amazon com links, the Sunny Health and Fitness SF-RW5639 may be the perfect fit for many of you out there. While it may not have the most up to date monitor or be the most durable equipment out there, it is a great exercise equipment for those just starting out. And so, even though with the pretty affordable price tag it makes for a good value, as like any other rowing machine review would say, getting yourself something more durable if you can afford it would be the better way to go.

Sunny Health & Fitness SF-RW5639 Wrap Up
