Sony Eclipse Media Player Craves The Sun

The Eclipse is a very smooth looking concept media player that has all the bells and whistles needed and expected. It’s got Bluetooth for streaming music from an MP3 player, radio, and built-in speakers. Talk of MP3 players, check out the Monolith MX7000 semi-indestructible MP3 player now in 1GB 2GB. If you want a device that’s easy to take on the go, give our Sony NWZ w252 w series Walkman MP3 player review a read too.

In a bid for counterintuitive naming, the Eclipse has a small photovoltaic cell array on its back, and its stick to a (sun-facing) window with the help of a suction cup. We wonder if it can draw enough juice to play and recharge its batteries at the same time, providing some later night-time use. If you want to see the ultimate in audio players, take a look at our HM 901 portable audio player preview.

The niftiest feature here is however a cassette-player like compartment, complete with ‘eject’ button. Not that the player can read any physical media, but it uses to compartment to hold the music device that’s doing the streaming.
