The RazorX Longboard Electric Skateboard is an excellent board for newbies and veterans alike. It has a powerful motor, but not so powerful it can be dangerous to children or newcomers. Its build features many elements to keep the user firmly upright, and when it comes to skateboards, there should always be elements of safety built in. Why We Like It – Razor Electric Skateboard

If you’ve just found out about the world of electric skateboards and want to see what they’re all about then the RazorX Longboard is a fantastic choice. If you’re a veteran to the world of electric skateboards, or just a veteran skater, and are looking for something to ride, the RazorX Longboard is still an excellent choice. Compare the Razor with our review of the altered electric skateboard goes up to 19mph.

Pros
  • Made of high-grade 5 ply bamboo
  • Urethane wheels to grip the ground
  • Remote Control works flawlessly
Cons
  • Motor isn’t the most powerful
  • A little on the pricey side
  • Only a 90-day Warranty

Performance

The rechargeable lithium-ion battery on the RazorX electric skateboard will net you almost an hour (about 40-50 minutes, give or take) of continuous use on a single charge. More than adequate in the world of electric skateboards. It houses a 125-watt rear-wheel drive hub motor allowing you to travel up to 10mph (16km/h). Decent speed, to be sure, but not not exactly the most powerful motor available. Check out the Teamgee H5 Electric Skateboard, which tops out at 22mph (35km/h) if you’re looking for something more thrilling.

Design

The RazorX Longboard is made almost entirely of high-grade 5 ply bamboo, perforated grip tape, and custom, reverse kingpin trucks to give you a smooth, responsive, and firmly-in-control riding experience. It measures 37.5” in length, which is a full 5” longer than the RazorX Cruiser Electric Skateboard. The longboard also has ground gripping urethane wheels to make sure the board, or you, doesn’t accidentally fall over. If falling over is something you’re concerned about, consider opting for the Hover-1 Switch 2 in 1 Electric Skateboard which converts from skateboard to scooter and is one of the safest rides around.

Value

Included with the RazorX Longboard is a hand-held remote with a replaceable wrist-strap to ensure you don’t lose it. It’s always nice when companies consider the small things like this. Razor’s other electric skateboard, the RazorX Cruiser, also includes a remote control, which would only make sense. The RazorX Longboard also comes pre-assembled so you can take it out of the box and go for your ride as soon as you get it. It’s priced at $215, while the RazorX Cruiser electric skateboard is $15 cheaper. If you’re in need of a budget skateboard, the Swagtron Swagskate NG3 Electric Skateboard provides a budget-friendly alternative with a few nice high-end features. A different model from the same brand is in our Swagtron hoverboard review.

Razor Electric Skateboard Wrap Up

The RazorX Longboard Electric Skateboard is a fantastic little machine that can provide you with a great thrill yet still keep you firmly on your feet and not face down on the pavement. Still, it can be a bit of a learning curve, especially if you’ve never ridden a skateboard before, so take caution if this is your first time. Maybe try and not max out and go 10mph on your first ride?
