As the name suggests, the Perception Pescador Pro is a 12 foot kayak that’s got great reliability and is a champion at both professional and recreational fishing. The kayak comes fitted with back-friendly seats and has a maximum weight capacity of 375 pounds. It’ll also be able to store your luggage thanks to its rear open area and its smaller front compartment. The fishing kayak weighs about 64 pounds, so it shouldn’t be that difficult to move around. To help with that, it also comes with a skid plate to allow you to drag it, and four molded-in handles at its front, rear and sides. Do these features alone make it the best kayak for 2021? We think not. Stick around to find out what else the Pro 12 kayak has in store.

Performance

The Pescador Pro 12 is ranked as being good at navigating lakes, ponds, rivers, streams and calm coastal waters, but it may not be the best choice for going on an ocean surf. It comes with a total of three fishing rod holders & can seat only one adult compared to the BKC TK219 that seats 3. The kayak allows for very simple tracking due to its V shaped hull, which makes controlling it during movement a bit easier.

Design

Mass camo is the color that the Pro 12 is most widely available in, and in our opinion, it’s the color it looks the best in as well. The Sun Dolphin Excursion 10 Kayak can’t match that as it comes in only solid colors. On its sides, the Pescador kayak has gear hacks that can be used for adding accessories like a fish finder, as well as a paddle holder as well to release your hands when you want to start fishing. Owners will also get to easily adjust the foot braces to fit their size, and have items as large as a tackle box fitting on its rear open storage space.

Value

Fishing kayaks like the Pro 12 are more likely to be heavier than recreational ones, and this makes them a lot easier to maneuver because of the lower center of gravity. The kayak boasts of great build quality as it is made out of durable polyethylene, but it’s not really stable enough for you to stand on it when in water. Doing that may cause it to tip over just as the Perception Sound 9.5 Kayak would.

Perception Pescador Pro 12 Wrap Up

For those that are interested in kayak fishing, there aren’t many kayaks around that can go toe-to-toe with the Pescador Pro 12 and edge it out. Head over to Amazon com to compare and see for yourself.
