Easily one of the best selling toothbrush models from Oral-B, the Pro 1000 still remains a popular option for anyone looking to get their first electric toothbrush. Its cleaning technique involves oscillating, pulsating and rotating the bristles on the toothbrush head to remove 300% more plaque than a regular manual toothbrush would. This rechargeable electric toothbrush comes with only one brushing mode to keep things simple and to the point. This means it would be a great pick for young kids or the elderly as it doesn’t have too many settings to fumble around with. Whether or not it’s the best electric toothbrush at its price point is really not up for debate. The real question is, does it fit all your preferences?

Why We Like It – Oral-B Pro 1000

It doesn’t get any simpler than the Pro 1000 for users who are looking for a no-fuss electric toothbrush. This base model focuses on the ability of its CrossAction brush head to surround each tooth with bristles angled at 16 degrees for maximum cleaning effect, and a pressure sensor that helps you regulate your force when brushing.

Performance

The best thing about this Oral-B electric toothbrush is no doubt how easy it is to use. It takes the same approach as the Philips Sonicare ProtectiveClean 4100 Toothbrush with only one cleaning mode (daily clean), and takes the complexities out of a simple daily practice. It’s battery life also keeps it running on one charge for up to 7 days, though we wish it was a bit longer like the Oral-B 7000 SmartSeries that goes for 10. Built-in is a timer that helps make sure you brush for the recommended two minutes and a Quadpacer to pause every 30 seconds for you to switch between all 4 sections of your teeth. You don’t get a special reminder to tell you to change toothbrush heads every three months so you’ll have to keep note of this yourself.

Design

The team at Oral B tried to be a bit generous and included one replacement brush head in its packaging, but we still feel like they could have done better. With that said, we don’t have any qualms with the design of this rechargeable toothbrush. It looks just about as nice and neat as the Philips Sonicare Essence Toothbrush, and comes with a nice travel case for you to carry it in.

Value

Just like the Fairywill Electric Toothbrush, there are a bunch of different replacement brush heads that you can opt for if the single brushing mode of the Oral-B Pro 1000 toothbrush isn’t as impressive to you. They include options such as the FlossAction head, the Precision Clean head and the Deep Sweep head, though you need to know what result you’re aiming at before you make your choice. You’ll definitely not get such choices with a regular manual toothbrush.

Oral-B Pro 1000 Wrap Up

Despite the lack of a range of brushing modes/cleaning modes to choose from, the Pro 1000 is just as good as other Oral-B brushes when it comes to having a nice clean mouth. Is it the best electric toothbrush you can get for less than $25? We think so. It trumps a lot of other electric toothbrushes at the same price point, and has a lot more value to offer than a few more expensive picks.
