The Nokona X2 Elite 12” ships game ready and durable, making it a great investment and long lasting. Despite being an open back, some have critiqued it for its small size, but its closed web makes it ideal for spur of the moment games and professional games alike. If the closed back is a deal-breaker, we do have some recommendations on the best baseball gloves.

Why We Like It – Nokona X2 Elite 12” baseball glove

The Nokona X2 Elite 12” Baseball Glove is a great all-purpose glove, offering a closed web and fashioned from genuine kangaroo leather. They’re made game ready with little to no break-in or steaming required. Additionally, given that it’s a web type glove, it is well suited to infield and outfield play so you can guard first base or make the winning catch.

Performance

This baseball glove does everything you could ask of it and is a jack of all trades. The kangaroo leathers used to make this glove lend to its durability, although some customers have complained of dirt showing quickly – this may be an issue for some. The lack of a deep pocket as in the Wilson A2000 Baseball Glove can also make for more difficult catches when it comes to fly balls( but great for first base defense. It is soft upon delivery and game ready right out of the box.

Design

The Nokona X2 Elite 12” baseball glove is made from high quality kangaroo leather and sports an open back to adjust the glove size easily, rivaled by Rawlings Renegade Baseball Glove for its comfort. As ball gloves go, the Nokona X2 Elite is beautifully made and is available for left handed and right handed catchers. Whereas H web baseball gloves are ideal for outfield positions, the Nokona X2 offers excellent variety to players who may want to segue into other roles due mainly to the closed web type baseball gloves allowing players more freedom on the sandlot.

Value

For what it accomplishes, the Nokona X2 Elite is decently priced as a higher-end glove and offers versatility, but some argue that it is small for its price despite its open back as there is only one size. Because these gloves are made of high quality kangaroo leathers, the price point is relatively high for a consumer-grade baseball glove, in which case we’d recommend the Franklin Sports Baseball Glove for its synthetic leather and lower cost. Still, enthusiasts who want a glove that can take a beating will enjoy the well-rounded playstyle that it offers them, dirt, scuffs, and all.

Nokona X2 Elite 12” baseball glove Wrap Up

The Nokona X2 Elite is an excellent jack of all trades baseball glove, ideal for softball and baseball, but if you’re looking to get into baseball or play catch, this may be a steep price. The closed web type glove is excellent whether you’re guarding first base or playing the outfield, and the genuine kangaroo leather is a definite ice breaker.
