From what we heard, the Boxee Box got off to a rough start. But today the company behind the popular media management software announced that both VUDU and Netflix are available for the device. This is relatively large news since the 2 services combined deliver more than 20,000 movie and TV shows.
Boxee says that VUDU has already been integrated into the Boxee movie library, while Netflix subscribers can download the app from the app store.
And in a some what unprecedented movie, Netflix is offering a 1 month trial, something we have seen from the DVD rental service since the early days. VUDU users can score one free HD movie worth $5.99.
Netflix and VUDU’s high-def On-Demand movie services are now available on the Boxee Box by D-Link.
This is a big step for us as these two services alone deliver more than 20,000 movies to the Boxee Box in addition to what we offer for free from the web. VUDU is already integrated into Boxee’s movie library, and you can find Netflix in the App library. With the addition of both services, it’s now a great time topick up the Boxee Box by D-Link to start enjoying thousands of HD movies and shows (more than you can get on the PC).
