You want to go big and get yourself the best selfie camera phone but you also want good protection, like the best waterproof phone. The LG V60 comes to mind, marrying both needs into one. After all, it’s 64MP camera captures lots of detail. And its water resistant rating comes out at IP68 making it one of the best smartphones for those with rugged lifestyles.

Why We Like It – LG V60

If you want a high-end smartphone, without putting your wallet in a coma, the LG V60 is going to blow your mind with its optional second screen, 64MP camera, and fast Snapdragon 865 chipset.

Pros
  • Has more than one screen w/ dual screen accessory
  • Runs on a Snapdragon 865 chipset
  • IP68 water-resistant rating
Cons
  • Rather bulky w/ a second display

Overall Performance

In the back are three rear cameras; 64MP for the primary, three times the megapixels of the Huawei Honor 8x; 13MP ultrawide; and a depth sensor. Its front camera is 10MP. Together that’s competitive, but quality? It’s great, but could be better. With clarity and sharpness, the LG V60 compares to a Galaxy S20 Ultra; however, colors can look muted. It’s still better than your average phone, leagues better. Also, it has 8K video recording. Running the show is a Snapdragon 865 chipset, which is great for gaming, and especially nice for running multiple screens.

Battery Life

Even the LG V60’s battery performs incredibly well, lasting up to half a day. It recharges via USB C, which is standard, and can reach 25% in under 15 minutes. It’s a step ahead of the Samsung Galaxy A70. However, if you need something that can last you for days then you can try the Alcatel Big Easy Flip whose standby mode can last you up to 11 days.

Display

One of LG V60’s flagship features is its displays. Yes, it has the ability to expand to a second screen (dual screen cases are available for it). This isn’t the first dual display LG created, and it probably isn’t the last. Having not one, but two 6.8-inch OLED screens in 2460×1080 is heaven, but might feel rather bulky in your pocket.

Durability

Its dust level protection is 6, while water resistance is 8, coming together for a rating of IP68. That means it can be submerged in 5 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. Keep in mind it isn’t impervious to water damage. And its classy blue, metallic finish looks quite nice.

Value

Even without the second screen, the LG V60’s performance directly competes with the likes of Apple iPhone 11 Pro. You’re getting way more bang for your buck here, despite having higher end specs, and you keep the headphone jack. So yes, its value is exceptional, along with a wholly unique design, albeit gimmicky.

LG V60 Wrap Up

The LG V60 is a strange beast, but welcome change to the status quo. Its performance competes with several flagship smartphones, putting it high on the list if that’s what you’re after. You even have the option for a second screen, a must-have for gamers. And its camera has excellent quality, albeit processed in some cases.
