The Injection Molded Graphite woofer cone is the MVP of the Klipsch Reference Front Firing Driver Subwoofer, the R-110SW. The low frequency response it offers is thanks to a combination of light material that’s still very rigid. This also creates deep, clean bass notes. To compliment the 10-inch front firing spun copper IMG woofer is a high efficiency digital amplifier. It offers that extra detail to compliment the bass Klipsch is so well-known for. Design
One aspect of the Klipsch R-100SW 10 Powered Subwoofer is the design, the finish in particular. The textured wood finish isn’t for everyone, and certainly isn’t the prettiest looking subwoofer on our list. To be fair, it doesn’t affect performance, but will only fit in limited color schemes. It’s a front firing copper spun woofer, which means sound comes from the front (or side), making it easy to place just about anywhere as opposed to down firing woofers. And it doesn’t have a shortage of controls, such as phase control, line level LFE RCA inputs, and low pass crossover. Value
We didn’t doubt the power behind the Klipsch speakers; the Reference series gets an A+ from us. However, its price should be called in for questioning. Is it a great price? That’s debatable. The 10-inch Polk Audio PSW10 is definitely better for pound value; not as powerful but easier on your wallet if budget is a concern. With that said, the pricing for the Klipsch R-100SW 10 Subwoofer has dropped since its inception.
