Performance

Made of a Dyneema Composite and containing the 3M Corporation’s Thinsulate insulation, the Hyperlite Mountain Gear REpack makes for the perfect REpack freezer bag cook system. It will hold up against years of use and in terms of actually using it all you need is a Ziploc bag and some hot water.

Simply put the food that you’ll eat inside the Ziploc bag and then take it with you inside your backpack and then when you’re ready to eat, take out the Ziploc and put it inside the Hyperlite Mountain Gear REpack. Pour hot water, mind that it doesn’t have to be boiling water, inside the Ziploc or the other types of freezer bags that you may be using and then let the food heat up. You can even go ahead and do something else as the food heats up, as the insulation will make sure that the food stays warm when you come back.

Moreover, as you no longer have to carry the packaged bags from the stores and rather only the Ziploc or freezer bags you need, it saves quite a bit of pack weight considering the number of food packets you may have otherwise carried. Design

Measuring to be 5 x 5 x 2 Inches in size and weighing just about 1.4oz, the Hyperlite Mountain Gear REpack is a lightweight bag that does a lot despite the small size. You get a double duty storage option that allows you to store seasoning and spices as well as other dish rags and other things you may need. And paired with the fact that it comes with a sleeve on the side to hold it as you pour down the water, you won’t ever get those burns while trying to heat up food. This along with the Dynamee composite material will also make sure that the bag isn’t too warm to hold even with hot water and the food inside.

And finally, the pretty rigid bottom also helps with the fact that you can leave the bag to heat up the food, standing upright as you go ahead and set up camp or do something else.

Value

Priced at about $40, the Hyperlite Mountain Gear REpack makes for a pretty good deal considering how much of a help it is in keeping your food warm. And while it may not be that large, you’ll be surprised to see how easily it can fit Ziploc bags once you actually have it in front of you. And so for making sure you always have a hot meal at hand during camp and also save some packing weight at the same time, the Hyperlite Mountain Gear REpack is definitely worth the price. Hyperlite Mountain Gear REpack Wrap Up
