Made by Directed Electronics, the Avital 5303L is another remote start system that is a great pick especially for car users who don’t have a lot of money to spend on a car alarm. As you might guess, the remote start system is capable of remote engine activation, which is quite convenient especially if the car is in a very cold area. The remote start system also comes with a two way remote, meaning it can receive status updates sent by the car, and keep the owner informed on anything that may be going on. Sounds interesting? Great. Make sure you get to the end of this review and see whether or not it’s the best car alarm for you.

Performance

For an alarm system that comes with a two way LCD remote, the Avital 5305L offers way more value than you’ll get with other car alarms at a price that’s hard to beat. It puts the viper 350 plus 3105v 1-way car alarm to shame because of its two way remote transmitter, and boasts of 4 auxiliary ports that can be used to expand its functions. Like most modern car alarms, it features keyless entry, and has a shock sensor that only sounds the 120 decibel alarm when it picks up on heavy impact on the car.

Design

The Avital 5303 security system comes with 2 different key fobs for use. Unlike the avital 3100LX car alarm, the first 4 button remote comes with an LCD screen, while the second remote control does not. This also means that out of the two, only the first one is a two way remote, with the second one is a one way transmitter. Eitherway, both remotes have buttons for the same functions, which are trunk release, lock/unlock, arm/disarm and remote start. The remotes can both be used up to 1500 feet away from the car, which is pretty decent for the alarm system’s price tag.

Value

This Avital remote start security system comes with impressive security features, and at a fraction of the price you’d pay for them if you went with a well known brand. It doesn’t have a GPS tracker like the carlock 2nd gen advanced real time 3g car tracker does, but it’s still an incredible value buy with all factors considered. To add to that, the system comes with a limited lifetime warranty, but to qualify for coverage, you need to make sure that you have it installed by an authorised installer.
