Why We Like It – Apple Macbook Pro M1 13″

The Apple Macbook Pro M1 13″ laptop is essentially the laptop equivalent of a Mac Mini in terms of performance with how it has a new m1 chip, solid-state drive storage, and a compact and sleek appearance. It’s also compatible with the Final cut Pro feature, allowing users to access their files if they can’t access their laptop.

Power/performance

What makes this laptop stand out is that it has a new Apple m1 chip with unified memory made from Apple silicon, instead of intel chips that can be replaced if it got damaged somehow. The m1 processor surpasses the Apple Macbook Pro 13 inch, which has the 8th generation Intel core i5. When the user combines the chip with the Big Sur OS, it provides stunning visuals and better response time. However, the Apple Macbook Air M1 13 Inch has a Fast, snappy, & responsive CPU with a retina display that is vivid & sharp.

Battery

This m1 Mac laptop has a remarkable battery life of 20 hours, surpassing laptops like the Apple Macbook Air 13, which has a battery life of 11 hours. Since its battery life can last for so long, there’s not much need to ensure that it lasts for as long as it can. The only thing to do is make sure that the RAM and CPU aren’t being pushed to their limits by running many programs at once, especially programs that require more resources.

Ports/expandability

This assortment of ports only consists of two Thunderbolt/ USB C ports and an audio/microphone jack. While it’s not the most diverse assortment of ports available to the user without any adaptors, those ports provide fast charging for various devices and a fast file transferring speed. It also provides Bluetooth, which somewhat adds even more devices that the computer can be connected to and is especially useful if there’s ever a chance the ports can’t function.

Build quality

It’s a little on the heavier side, as it weighs 3 Lbs., making it slightly heavier than the Apple Macbook Air M1 13 inch, which weighs 2.8 Lbs. However, it’s heavier for a few good reasons: the three studio-quality microphones, the scissor mechanism that improves the keyboard’s overall functionality, and some of the components involved with improving the screen’s color and image quality, to name a few. Also, to hose all of these components is an aluminum chassis.

Value

Despite this new Macbook Pro only being a base model, it’s pretty expensive. However, it has a few justifiable reasons as to why: The retina display, SSD storage, the M1 chip, Neural Engine feature, and the 16 Gbs of RAM would be the most costly components. Some things can also be upgraded, as the laptop can accept solid-state drives that can store up to 2 TBs of data. Most, if not all, components are of high quality and can provide great performances with ease.

Apple Macbook Pro M1 13″ Wrap Up

Customer reviews have mostly been positive, praising this laptop for its battery life and its performance. More than one reviewer addressed that the overall performance it provides makes it very versatile. Users can use it for music production, programs such as Matlab, and more.
